Peru is approaching 300,000 coronavirus cases after more than 3,000 new ones have been confirmed

The Peruvian Ministry of Health has registered more than 3,000 new cases of coronavirus this Saturday, making the country close to 300,000 infected.

According to the balance offered by the health authorities, Peru has 3,481 additional positive results, bringing the total number of people infected to 299,080. In addition, COVID-19 caused the deaths of 10,412 people in the Andean country.

Lima is the most affected country by region with a total of 163,824. Callao followed with 18,339; Piura at 17,721; Lambayeque, which has 14,137; and La Libertad with 10,727 cases.

In addition, the Peruvian Ministry of Health has highlighted that 189,621 people have completed their isolation phase or have been released from health centers. In contrast, 11,273 people are hospitalized as a result of the illness, 1,224 with mechanical ventilation in intensive care units.
