Peru crossed 770,000 cases of COVID-19 this Monday after the country’s health ministry confirmed 4,000 additional infections in the past 24 hours.
In particular, according to the balance offered by the Peruvian health authorities, 4,001 new cases were found this Monday, bringing the number of Andean countries worldwide to 772,896 positives. In addition, 31,474 people have died of COVID-19 in the Latin American country.
9,087 people remain in hospital because of the illness. 1,415 of them are admitted to intensive care units and require mechanical ventilation. However, 622,418 people have managed to recover from COVID-19 in Peru.
Meanwhile, Deputy Health Minister Luis Suárez has announced that Peru has signed an agreement giving access to the coronavirus vaccines developed under the Covax Facility project, a global collaboration aimed at accelerating development and production and more equitable Access to vaccines.
