The Peruvian Ministry of Health this Saturday confirmed 30,593 coronavirus deaths and 722,832 accumulated cases after analyzing 27,103 tests, 1,045 of which tested positive.
Health officials have also reported 123 new deaths and 267 hospital discharges, for a total of 559,321, while 10,251 people are still being admitted.
Peru is the fifth country with the highest number of accumulated cases, although with more than 3.5 million it is also one of the neighboring countries that has carried out the most tests.
The Peruvian government has extended the state of emergency until September 30 and has set up a targeted quarantine, which remains strict in Cuzco, Moquegua, Puno and Tacna. In addition to 46 provinces by 14 other departments that are keeping curfew from 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. the next day.
