Peru exceeded 360,000 cases of coronavirus on Tuesday after another 4,400 were registered.
The balance offered by the Peruvian Ministry of Health puts the number of new infections at 4,406, for which 362,087 positive results have already been confirmed in the Andean nation. Likewise, 13,579 people in the country died of COVID-19.
Lima remains the region most affected by the pandemic in Peru, with 179,560 cases in its metropolitan area and 13,980 cases in all of Lima ‘s provinces. Behind her, Callao are most affected with 19,966 infections. Piura at 19,782; Lambayeque at 15,922; and La Libertad with 13,355.
The Peruvian health authorities have highlighted that 248.7746 people in the country have been cured of COVID-19 while 12.747 people with the disease have been hospitalized. 1,342 of these are in intensive care units and require mechanical ventilation.
Peru has been in a state of emergency for 128 days. The Peruvian government has ordered a quarantine that focuses on the regions of Arequipa, Ica, Junín, Huánuco, San Martin, Madre de Dios and Áncash.
Some of the restrictions on ending the pandemic have been partially lifted in Lima and the other departments. Restrictive measures that are maintained in Peru include closing borders and banning mass events such as concerts.
