Peru exceeds 305,000 coronavirus cases, with nearly 3,000 new cases confirmed in the past 24 hours

The Peruvian Ministry of Health announced Monday that nearly 3,000 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the past 24 hours, so the global balance in the Andean nation has exceeded 305,000 positive cases.

In particular, the health authorities have confirmed 2,985 additional infections, which now total 305,703. Peru has already accumulated 10,772 deaths from COVID-19.

Lima is at the top of the number of people affected by regions with 166,653 registered people. Callao stands behind her with 18,471; Piura, 17,941 positives; Lambayeque at 14,355; and La Libertad, 11,050.

Similarly, the Peruvian health authorities, who have performed more than 1.8 million COVID-19 diagnostic tests, have found that 197,619 people have completed their isolation period at home or have been released.
