Peru exceeds 250,000 cases of coronavirus with 3,400 new infections

The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported this Saturday that 251,338 cases of coronavirus have been reached by registering 3,413 new infections, according to the latest balance offered by the agency.

The authorities have reported that a total of 7,861 people have died of COVID-19 in Peru, with 201 more people killed in the past 24 hours.

Lima remains the region most affected by the pandemic in Peru, adding 143,017 positive events to its territory. Callao follows coronavirus with 16,844 cases; Piura at 15,123; and Lambayeque with 12,175.

As of this Saturday, the Ministry of Health has indicated that 10,577 patients with coronavirus will remain in hospital, including 1,143 in intensive care units.
