The Peruvian Ministry of Health this Sunday has reported 768,895 cases since the pandemic broke out in the Andean country, which this time hasn’t confirmed the total death toll because “the servers hosting the information are under maintenance”.
The health authorities have estimated the most recently diagnosed infections at 760 and a total of 615,255 hospital discharges. To date, nearly 3.7 million tests have been performed, of which about 3 million have been negative.
There are still 9,156 hospitalized patients, 1,425 of whom are in intensive care units with mechanical ventilation.
On the other hand, Deputy Health Minister Luis Suárez Ognio has insisted that the ban on driving in private vehicles on Sunday is part of the government’s package of measures to stop the spread of the virus.
