Peru broke the barrier of 430,000 cases of coronavirus on Monday and has been exposed to nearly 20,000 COVID-19 deaths, according to the latest data released by the country’s health ministry.
In particular, after the 4,250 infections confirmed in the last 24 hours, Peru has already accumulated 433,100 infected people. The deaths this Monday were 19,811, 197 more than the previous day.
According to the Peruvian health authorities, 13,772 people are currently hospitalized due to the disease. Of these, 1,419 are in intensive care units and require mechanical ventilation. 298,091 people have completed their isolation period at home or have been released from the Andes.
Peru has been in a state of emergency for 141 days. This implies that “the exercise of constitutional rights in relation to personal freedom and security, the inviolability of one’s own home and the freedom of assembly and transit on the territory are restricted”.
