Peru broke the barrier of 20,000 deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday, a mark that has reached nearly 440,000 confirmed cases of the disease, according to the latest data from the Andean Ministry of Health.
According to the Peruvian health authorities, the country has added 196 new COVID-19 deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the global death toll to 20,007.
The Peruvian Ministry of Health also confirmed 6,790 additional cases on the last day, so that 439,890 positive cases have already been registered in the Latin American country.
Finally, the health authorities have highlighted that 13,798 people have been hospitalized for the disease so far, 1,418 of them in intensive care units with mechanical ventilation. For its part, 302,457 people managed to recover from the disease in the country.
