Peru confirms flight bans from India, Brazil and South Africa until May 31

The Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications announced this Sunday that the entry ban on flights from India, Brazil and South Africa will apply until May 31st in these countries due to the situation of the pandemic and the variants of the coronavirus that have been identified in the country.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health reported 2,260 new cases of COVID-19 this Sunday, a total of 1,889,052 since the pandemic began.

Also in the past 24 hours, health officials have lamented the deaths of 309 people as a result of COVID-19, in which the country has already recorded 66,220 deaths.

In contrast, 1,834,372 patients have recovered from the virus, a level reached on the last day after the 196 discharges, while 12,747 patients remain in hospital, 2,680 of whom will be admitted to intensive care units.
