Peru beats Italy on coronavirus cases and surpasses 240,000 positive results

The Peruvian health authorities announced on Wednesday that the 240,000 cases of coronavirus have been exceeded, making the Andean country superior to Italy with 237,828 inhabitants.

In particular, the Peruvian Ministry of Health, the second largest country affected by the pandemic in Latin America and the seventh worldwide, has reported that 3,752 positive results have been recorded in the last 24 hours, so the global calculation is up to 240,908.

In addition, 201 additional deaths were recorded due to COVID-19, bringing the death toll to 7,257. In terms of the number of deaths, Peru is the fourteenth country to have confirmed the most deaths.

In the Latin American country, which has been in a state of emergency for 94 days, a total of 128,622 people have recovered from the disease. According to the balance offered by the Ministry of Health, 10.2014 were hospitalized due to the illness, 1,111 in intensive care units.
