The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported a total of 86 deaths from COVID-19 this Saturday after President Martín Vizcarra highlighted 95 confirmed deaths on Thursday, the first double-digit number “after that” for a long time.
The 86 new deaths as a result of the disease caused by the new coronavirus have increased to 31,369 deaths in Peru since the pandemic began.
According to the health authorities of the Andean country, the number of infected people has also risen to 762,865 after a further 6,453 were registered this Saturday.
On the other hand, 9,269 patients remain in hospital because of COVID-19, 1,421 of whom are admitted to intensive care units and require mechanical ventilation. 607,837 people have managed to recover from the disease in Peru.
