Peru added nearly 7,000 new cases of coronavirus this Thursday, so the balance in the Andean nation has already exceeded 407,000 infected people, according to the latest Ministry of Health data.
In particular, the health authorities have received information on 6,809 newly infected people, so that Peru has so far recorded 407,492 positive results. In addition, a total of 19,021 people in the country died from COVID-19.
The Peruvian region most affected by the pandemic is still Lima, with a total of 213,659 infected between the metropolitan region and the provinces. This is followed by Callao with 21,045 and Piura with 21,069.
In the meantime, Peruvian Health Minister Pilar Mazzetti has asked the “union” to “find a way to get access to vaccines that protect health workers and the general population from the corona virus”.
