The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported this Thursday that 3,500 new cases of coronavirus have been registered in the last 24 hours, so the Andean nation already has more than 316,000 positive cases.
In particular, the Peruvian health authorities examined 3,537 additional cases, a total of 316,448 infections in the Latin American country. The number of deaths due to the disease is already 11,314 after 181 new deaths have been confirmed.
In Lima, 171,458 are affected by COVID-19, making it the Peruvian region most affected by the pandemic. Callao is behind her with 18,745 cases; Piura, which has 18,293; Lambayeque at 14,742; and La Libertad at 11,494.
The Peruvian Ministry of Health also highlighted that 207,802 people have completed their isolation period at home or have been discharged from a health center while 11,770 remain in the hospital. Of these, 1,292 are in intensive care units with mechanical ventilation.
