Palestinian woman arrested for knifing Israeli settlers in Hebron

A Palestinian woman was arrested this Saturday after stabbing an Israeli settler who was slightly injured in the attack, Israeli security sources have confirmed.

The 38-year-old man was stabbed to death at a checkpoint near the tomb of the Patriarchs in the city of Hebron, West Bank. A 65-year-old woman from the nearby town of Idhna was identified and interrogated in the case of the attacker.

The settler, a resident of the Kiryat Arba settlement, fought the attacker before being overpowered by the Israeli military. When the woman saw the approach of the Hebrew security forces, the woman threw the knife and fell to the ground, according to the newspaper “Haaretz”.

The tomb of the patriarchs, which is considered sacred to both Jews and Muslims and which believers of both religions use for prayer, is considered a focal point of violence in the city, hence the installation of checkpoints.
