Pakistan resumed its polio vaccination campaign on Monday after months of forced interruption due to the coronavirus pandemic, which is gradually declining in the Asian nation.
The vaccination campaign, which is expected to reach 800,000 children under the age of 5, takes place Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday in the main outbreaks of the corona virus.
According to Pakistani officials, around 32,000 health workers will attend and go home to house to complete the vaccination. The measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus are observed.
With 265,083 cases, including 5,599 deaths and 205,929 people, Pakistan is one of the countries most affected by COVID-19 worldwide. Sindh and Punjab are the provinces with the highest incidence of the virus with 113,007 and 90,191 positive results, respectively, while 14,599 are infected in Islamabad, the capital.
