The North Korean Freedom Fighters’ deserter group announced on Tuesday that it has once again started propaganda against the Pyongyang government and its leader Kim Jong Un, although after tensions surrounding Seoul have asked to avoid such acts, they are on a similar episode two weeks ago reappeared between the two countries.
“We sent out brochures against North Korea from Paju on Monday between 11pm and midnight,” the group said. It is a border town in the north, about 20 kilometers from the Kaesong Liaison Office, which was destroyed by the Pyongyang government in retaliation for the prior publication of the leaflets.
The group’s leader, Park Sang Hak, has announced, according to South Korean news agency Yonhap, that six other activists have fired around 500,000 leaflets toward North Korea that were carried in around twenty helium balloons.
Park added that around 500 additional brochures with information on “South Korean success” were sent along with these forms, as well as 2,000 US dollar bills and 1,000 memory cards with more content.
