Nigerian Presidency spokesman Garba Shehu tested positive for COVID-19 this Saturday and is in isolation.

Shehu has said he has mild symptoms, is isolated and will have additional tests over the next few days to determine his health, according to the Nigerian newspaper Punch.

The president’s spokesman has stated that other members of the Nigerian government have also undergone diagnostic tests for COVID-19.

The health authorities of Nigeria, the most populous country in Africa, have so far confirmed 234,709 cases and 2,993 deaths from coronavirus, with 212,237 people recovered from COVID-19, according to the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa), depending on CDC) the African Union (AU).
