Nicaragua passes the controversial cybercrime law, which criticizes the opposition for restricting freedom of expression

The Nicaraguan National Assembly this Tuesday passed the controversial Cybercrime Special Law, which seeks to investigate and punish “crimes committed through information and communication technologies”, which the opposition and the country’s social organizations have described as an attempt to Restrict press freedom of expression and silence sectors critical of Daniel Ortega’s government.
