NEW YORK, Aug. 25 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, has applauded the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, as the “ideal man” to champion the exit of the country from the European Union and has promised him a “great trade agreement” to cushion the economic impact of Brexit.
“We are going to prepare a great trade agreement with the United Kingdom that we hope to close quickly,” Trump said during the summit of the seven most industrialized countries in the world, the G7, which is being held in the French city of Biarritz.
Previously, Trump had remarked the good atmosphere that is felt among the participants of the meeting “despite the false information” published by US media.
In particular, with French President Emmanuel Macron, who has promised to apply an additional tax to US technology companies in France; to which Trump had responded with the threat of imposing additional tariffs on French wines.
