The Minister of Sports, Tito Montaño, and the Hydrocraburos Minister, José Alberto Sánchez, on Sunday presented his resignation in the midst of the Bolivian political crisis and joined the Minister of Mining, César Navarro.
Montaño has submitted his irrevocable resignation due to threats to his parents and some relatives in the midst of the wave of protests against President Evo Morales. “With great sorrow and frustration I have to announce to the whole Bolivian people my resignation to the position of Minister of Sports for intimidation, psychological pressure, threat to my parents and the family,” Montaño said in statements to network One.
The former minister has explained that he has been threatened with destroying his property and attacking his family and recalled that due to similar circumstances years ago one of his brothers died and was not willing to repeat that experience.
This afternoon also the resignation of the ministers Sánchez and Navarro and the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Carmen Almendras has been known.
