The main negotiator of Pyongyang, open to the “new method” proposed by Trump

SEOUL, Sep. 20 (Reuters / EP) –

The main negotiator of the North Korean regime, Kim Myong Gil, has applauded that the president of the United States, Donald Trump, now propose a “new method” for the two countries to resume the stalled negotiations.

Trump proposed a new approach on Wednesday by criticizing the plan put forward by former National Security advisor John Bolton, a supporter of North Korea unilaterally renouncing its weapons program before any possible concession.

Pyongyang had already warned that, in order to resume the dialogue, the methodology should also be reconsidered, although for now Washington does not consider any reduction in sanctions. Kim has considered Trump's new announcement “an intelligent political decision.”

The North Korean negotiator has pointed out that contacts can now resume without an “agitator” within the Government, referring to Bolton, who was dismissed last week for his discrepancies with the US president.
