ROME, Aug 19 (EUROPE PRESS) –

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has insisted on Monday that it remains “absolutely contrary” to allow the landing of migrants and refugees still on board the 'Open Arms'. “We are good Christians, but not fools,” he said.

“Why do all Spanish, French, German, Norwegian or English ships come to Italy? Why don't they go to Spain, where they are good and generous and have opened ports?” Salvini asked during a radio interview collected by the news agency Adnkronos.

The minister has suggested that among the migrants there are “minors who are not minors, patients who are not sick” and has warned that “charity” is not at odds with the “closed ports” policy that he defends since he came to the Government over a year ago
