UNITED NATIONS, Aug 21 (Reuters / EP) –
The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, warned on Tuesday that the United States will take all possible measures to prevent the Iranian ship 'Adrian Darya 1' from delivering oil to Syria, in breach of US sanctions.
“We have made it clear that anyone who supports it, anyone who allows a ship to dock is at risk of receiving sanctions from the United States,” said Pompeo.
“If that ship is heading back to Syria, we will take all the measures we can in line with those sanctions to avoid it,” he said.
Iranian oil tanker Grace 1, renamed 'Adrian Darya 1', left Gibraltar on August 18 and the ship's tracking data showed that he was heading for the Greek port of Kalamta.
