The spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, Nusrat Rahimi, has lamented that among the deceased there are women and children. The Taliban, meanwhile, have rejected in an official statement any involvement with this attack.

“Desolate by the news of a suicide attack inside a wedding hall in Kabul. It is a despicable crime against our people. How is it possible to train a human being and ask him to immolate himself inside a wedding !? what is this dislike of innocent Afghans !? “, the spokesman for the Afghan Presidency, Sediq Sediqqi, said on Twitter.

The Ministry of Interior for the moment has confirmed the attack on the hall and noted that the property was crowded at the time of the attack. An Interior spokesman, Nusrat Rahimi, explained in statements to the television network Tolo News that the explosion has occurred around 22.40 hours.

Eyewitnesses have confirmed that the room was full of guests and videos posted on social networks show women screaming in front of the room and other people shocked after the explosion. In this type of ceremony it is usual to concentrate up to 400 people.

The attack has not been claimed by any group, but attacks by insurgent groups such as the Taliban or Islamic State are not rare in the capital.
