At least one person has died and five others have been injured Thursday night by a shooting in the streets of Washington DC, authorities said.
So far it is unknown if any suspect has been arrested, but a police source has told the Reuters news agency that it was not considered an “active shooter” situation. The source has also claimed that the five gunshot victims are expected to survive their injuries.
The shooting took place in the neighborhood of Columbia Heights at the intersection of 14th Street and the Columbia Highway, about three miles from the White House.
The WJLA TV network has published images of ambulances that transferred victims through their account on the social network Twitter. He has also pointed out that there has been a “massive” police response.
