New York sees a “steady decline” in COVID-19 cases and reduces the daily death toll below 100

New York state governor Andrew Cuomo reported this Thursday that the number of cases of coronavirus has “steadily” decreased, while the number of daily deaths is already below one hundred.

In a press conference, Cuomo noted that 52 more deaths from COVID-19 had been recorded on the last day, despite the lowest number of deaths since the pandemic began on Tuesday (49).

There are a total of 21,170 deaths in the state and 209,688 confirmed cases, of which 493 have been recorded in the last 24 hours, according to The New York Times.

Regarding the protests that followed the Minneapolis police after George Floyd’s death, Cuomo has indicated that the state plans to conduct coronavirus testing on all participants.
