New York Governor Andrew Cuomo confirmed this Saturday that a total of 437 people across the state have died in the past few hours. This is an increase in casualties that is higher than the number of casualties last Friday, when the number of cases was higher across the country, it has already passed the 900,000 barrier.
If you add these numbers to yesterday’s overall balance, the state has already registered a total of 16,499 deaths.
Cuomo described this growth rate as “flat with a slight decrease” in the death curve, but he couldn’t hide his pain either. “This is terrible, terrible, terrible news,” he complained.
However, the governor also highlighted that the number of hospital stays has continued to decrease. “We’re going down the mountain,” the governor said at a press conference.
