New York adds 232 more deaths in a single day before the number of hospitalizations continues to decrease

New York governor Andrew Cuomo reported on Wednesday that there have been an additional 232 deaths in the state in the past 24 hours, although he found the numbers “are still below where they were” when the coronavirus occurred Pandemic in the United States.

As explained in a press conference, 207 of these deaths were registered in hospitals, while another 25 occurred in nursing homes and day care centers. This is the third day in a row that the death toll has reached 230.

There are currently 25,028 deaths and more than 326,000 infections registered in the state, the local newspaper The New York Times reports. However, as the number of newly infected people has stabilized, Cuomo has indicated that some areas may reopen from May 15.
