New cases of coronavirus decrease in Chile for the fourth year in a row
The Chilean authorities this Tuesday highlighted that another 1,566 cases of coronavirus have been recorded in the past 24 hours, representing a decrease in infections across the country for the fourth consecutive year.
Health Minister Enrique Paris has stated that 1,061 of the newly found cases are symptomatic, 424 are asymptomatic and a further 81 are “not reported”. The total number since the beginning of the pandemic is 376,616.
Of these infections, 16,897 are still active and a further 349,541 correspond to patients who have managed to recover from COVID-19, according to the Ministry of Health.

Regarding the number of deaths, Assistance Networks Undersecretary Arturo Zúñiga has stated that 39 more deaths were recorded in a single day, bringing the total to 10,178 deaths.
