Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the attacks on positions of the Syrian army southwest of Damascus on Tuesday evening, saying that Israel would “do everything necessary to defend itself”.
The president, who stressed that the Israeli armed forces had “first hit the cell and then their messengers,” has suggested “everyone, including Hezbollah, to reflect on their premise”. “They are not in vain, they have the weight of the State of Israel and its defense forces, so they must be taken seriously,” he added.
His words come after Israeli helicopters attacked Syrian military targets in the southwestern city of Quneitra on Monday evening.
The battery of attacks took place a day after Israel thwarted an attempted homemade bomb attack on the Golan Heights, which are under Israeli occupation, according to The Jerusalem Post.
