NBA Top Shot launches P2P collectibles market

Dapper Labs, the team behind CryptoKitties, has launched a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace where beta players in its NBA Top Shot game can trade their non-fungible collector tokens (NFT)..

The launch of Top Shot gives players the opportunity to own tokens that were limited to the game’s first wave of collectibles.which are already sold out and allow players to expand and complete their crypto collections and unlock unique rewards.

The gamewhich is based on the Dapper Labs Flow blockchain, With NFTs that represent important “moments” in basketball history. The tokens provide multimedia experiences that allow owners to examine videos and statistics at the specific moment that each NFT represents.

After the beta start in May Top Shot featured NFTs representing 150 moments of the 2019-20 NBA season and featured five different players on each team..

After many “instant sale” packages at launch, Dapper has increased the number of With the Strip packages made available to players. The second wave will hand out 2,328 packages for $ 26 each, of which only 499 are With the Strip moments.

At least 13,000 NBA fans are on the waiting list to get early access to the NBA Top Shot.

Top Shot targets regional tokens

In conversation with Cointelegraph, the Caty Tedman, director of partnerships and marketing at Dapper Labs, stated that the NBA will help promote Top Shop and cited the discussion of tokens targeting specific regions and languages.

Tedman expressed hope to launch “Japanese-language tokens” in the future, adding The NBA has linked Dapper with its Asia-Pacific and European groups.
