Moreno officially repeals the decree that increased the price of fuels in Ecuador

MADRID, Oct. 15 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The president of Ecuador, Lenín Moreno, officially repealed Decree 883 on Monday, which increased diesel and gasoline prices and caused more than a week of violent protests in the country.

Moreno has signed Decree 894, which “leaves without effect” the previous one signed on October 1 and details that a new decree will be prepared to allow a fuel subsidy policy.

Also, the document explains that until the new decree is issued, fuel prices will be the same as those established before Decree 883 enters into force.
