The military junta has reported the arrest of more than 40 people in connection with the seizure of more than 2,000 explosives and homemade firearms in Yangon in recent weeks.
From May 21 to this Sunday, 23 people were arrested and three pistols, three chargers and 2,080 homemade bombs were confiscated. Another 20 people were arrested between the 13th and 17th of the same month, according to “The Irrawaddy”.

Along with the arrests, there have been several clashes between the military and civilians in the city of Yangún over the past few weeks, as well as more than five explosions, which resulted in the deaths of armed forces and a local governor.
