More than 30 people were arrested in Turkey in an operation against members of the prokurdo HDP

The Turkish security forces arrested more than 30 people on Tuesday in an operation against people from the pro-Kurdish People’s Democratic Party (HDP) for alleged links with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Security sources cited by the Turkish state news agency Anatolia have reported in detail that the operations in Gaziantep province in the southeast of the country were carried out after an investigation into the formation.

They also stated that the provincial president of the HDP is among the detainees, adding that all those arrested are interviewed as part of the investigation, which also involved the seizure of documents.

A spokesman for the HDP informed the German news agency DPA that the majority of the detainees were female party activists, adding that they were three provincial and district administrators of the formation.
