More than 30 coronavirus crew members on a Norwegian cruise ship

A total of 33 people tested positive for coronavirus in tests carried out by the crew of the Norwegian cruise ship ‘Roald Amundsen’, operated by Hurtigruten and docked in Tromsø.

“The 158 crew members of ‘Roald Amundsen’ have undergone diagnostic tests for the coronavirus and 33 have tested positive, while 120 have tested negative,” and the results of the remaining five are pending, Hurtigruten reported in a release.

The Norwegian company has clarified that “none of the 154 crew members still on board, including the last 29 who tested positive, showed any symptoms of illness or COVID-19”.

In addition, the cruise line has stated that the ‘Roald Amundsen’ is currently docked in the port of Tromsø in the north of the Scandinavian nation without currently having passengers on board.
