Mexico touches half a million contagion and 55,000 deaths from COVID-19

The Mexican Ministry of Health reported a total of 492,522 cases this Tuesday, while the death toll is already 53,929.

The Mexican Government’s Undersecretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion Hugo López-Gatell stated that health officials estimate a total of 55,894 deaths and 529,177 accumulated cases.

In the last balance, 926 more deaths and 6,686 new infections were added, as López-Gatell highlighted in the daily appearance of the National Palace. He pointed out that 2,422 deaths are being investigated.

Of the 492,522 accumulated cases, only 8 percent remain active, or 41,317, while 332,800 people managed to overcome the disease.
