Mexico is close to 500,000 coronavirus cases after nearly 6,000 new positives have been added in the last 24 hours, according to the latest information from the Latin American health authorities.
The Department of Health has reported that 6,148 new infections have been confirmed in the past 24 hours, increasing Mexico’s global balance to 449,961. Similarly, the 857 other deaths have amassed 48,000 COVID-19 deaths.
Regarding hospitalization, Mexico’s Epidemiology Director, José Luis Alomía, has announced that 16,760 general hospital beds are currently available, while 13,827 are occupied.
Regarding beds in intensive care units or with a ventilator, Alomia has indicated that 6,938 are free and 3,925 are occupied, as reported by the local newspaper ‘El Universal’.
