During his appearance, Undersecretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion Hugo López-Gatell referred to the drug AstraZeneca, which had interrupted the trial of his vaccine against COVID-19 because of the occurrence of a “possibly inexplicable disease”. For one of its participants, the company described a step as a “routine”.
López-Gatell, as reported by the Mexican newspaper “El Universal”, urged the public not to speculate and stressed that “it is not known whether there is a connection between the injection and the side effect in question”.
