Mexico tops 585,000 positives for coronavirus, though only Colima maintains the “red light”.

Mexico exceeded 585,000 positive cases for coronavirus this Friday and added 5,824 new cases in the last 24 hours, despite only remaining at a “red light,” the state of Colima, the color system that governs reopening activities in the country.

The Ministry of Health has reported that 585,738 cases of COVID-19 contagion have been confirmed to date, while the death toll rose to 63,146,552 on the last day.

The Director General for Health Promotion, Ricardo Cortés, stated at a press conference that the number of active cases is 42,882.

In terms of hospital occupancy, it has been reported that there are 31,260 beds available to treat the disease, of which more than 20,000 are available and 11,189 are occupied. The country has 7,258 beds with respirators and 3,221 occupied.
