Mexico tops 510,000 cases of coronavirus with 5,600 new positives

The Mexican Ministry of Health reported this Friday that the country exceeded 510,000 cases of coronavirus, with 5,618 new positives on the last day.

Health officials have also confirmed a total of 55,908 deaths, 615 recorded this Friday and 511,369 positive since the pandemic began.

In terms of hospital occupancy, the director of Mexican Epidemiology, José Luis Alomía, has indicated that there are a total of 31,640 general beds in the country for the care of patients with coronavirus, of which 19,266 are free and 12,374 are occupied. The occupancy index is therefore 39 percent.

According to El Universal newspaper, the country has 10,708 beds with respirators, 7,062 of which are available and more than 3,500 are occupied.
