Mexico registers 573,888 cases and 62,076 deaths from coronavirus as bed occupancy decreases

The Mexican Ministry of Health this Wednesday confirmed 573,888 accumulated cases of coronavirus and 62,076 deaths, while hospital bed occupancy continues to decline and is already below 37 percent.

The director general of epidemiology of the Mexican government, José Luis Alomía, stated at the usual press conference of the National Palace that hospital beds are 37 percent occupied in general treatment beds and 31 percent occupied in the case of those who have respirators.

In the past 24 hours, the health authorities recorded 626 new deaths and 5,267 infections. Alomía has stated that there is a 44 percent rate of positive cases in the more than 1.29 million tests performed since the health crisis began.

On the other hand, 81,466 cases were classified as suspects and 39,616 as active. while the people who have recovered from the disease are already 396,758 across the country.

The regions in the country with the most active cases are Mexico City with 4,288; Nuevo León with 2,063; and Guanajuato with 1,808.
