Mexico is the third country with the highest number of coronavirus deaths after surpassing the UK

Mexico became the third country with the most coronavirus deaths worldwide this Friday after surpassing the UK and registering more than 46,600 deaths.

Hugo López-Gatell, Under-Secretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion in Mexico, has reported that the country has had 46,688 pandemic deaths and 424,637 infections.

These numbers make Mexico the third largest country with the highest number of COVID-19 deaths worldwide, after surpassing the United Kingdom, which reported 46,204 deaths by Friday, according to Johns Hopkins University.

So far, the USA has led the way with more than 150,000 deaths and Brazil with 92,475.
