The Mexican health authorities reported this Friday that more than 7,000 additional cases of coronavirus have been diagnosed, causing the country to exceed the 330,000 infection mark.
In particular, 7,257 new cases have been found in the past 24 hours, according to the balance offered by the Secretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion, Hugo López-Gatell, which increased the total to 331,298. In addition, Mexico has 38,310 disease-related deaths after the 736 new COVID-19 deaths.
López-Gatell also reported the hospital situation in Mexico, stating that 16,424 hospital beds are available and 13,729 are occupied. The occupation is 46 percent. There are 6,331 free beds in intensive care units or with a breathing mask, while 3,859 are still occupied.
He also presented the situation of the epidemiological traffic light, the color system that regulates the implementation of productive life and calibrates the situation of the pandemic in Mexico, and has indicated that 18 units are in red and 14 in orange.
