Mexican health officials reported Tuesday that the country has exceeded 310,000 cases of coronavirus, but they estimate that nearly 40,000 more could not be diagnosed.
Especially after the 7,051 registered in the last 24 hours, Mexico has reached 311,486 infections. However, the director of Mexican epidemiology, José Luis Alomía, has announced that the actual number could reach up to 349,893.
“We have this number because we can add the suspected cases that based on the percentage of positivity we estimate that so many tests will be positive that we will be ahead of the times,” said Alomía, as from the local newspaper ‘ El Universal ‘reports.
The same applies to deaths. Another 836 were found this Tuesday, increasing Mexico’s global balance to 36,327. However, Alomia estimates that there could be 38,263 COVID-19 deaths.
Regarding the hospitalization, Alomia has transferred that 13,272 general beds for the coronavirus are currently occupied, while 16,391 remain free. Regarding the beds in intensive care units, he stated that 3,751 are occupied and 5,908 are free.
