Mexico confirms 500,000 more cases and 55,000 deaths from COVID-19

The Mexican Ministry of Health this Thursday confirmed 505.75L accumulated cases and a total of 55,293 deaths from COVID-19, of which 15,043 correspond to patients who did not have previous illnesses.

In the last balance sheet on the situation of the pandemic, the director general of epidemiology of the Mexican government, Luis Alomía, reported the deaths of 627 other people and the infection of 7,371. The total number of people recovered is 341,507.

The regions with the highest number of active cases continue to be Mexico City with 4,166; Guanajuato at 2,203; and State of Mexico with 2,148.

The Undersecretary of State for Prevention and Health Promotion for his part
Hugo López-Gatell reported that on Friday the changes and variations that the states of the country will be exposed to will be published as part of the epidemiological semaphore drawn up by the government to establish specific restriction and flexibility measures depending on the area.
