May 27, 2020

Chancellor Angela Merkel called for caution on Wednesday when the federal states begin to lift the restrictions imposed to slow the progression of the coronavirus and warns that the country is “still at the beginning of the pandemic”.

Merkel, who stressed the need to agree on the most important guidelines to be followed when withdrawing the restriction measures, was therefore commented on by critical voices who insisted that the measures should be lifted more quickly.

In this sense, the President has emphasized the importance of staying “united” and “asking to be considerate of others”. For Merkel it is “essential” to keep a safety distance of at least 1.5 meters and to use the masks in public transport.
