The world’s largest fast food chain is partnering with the White House to educate consumers about COVID-19 vaccines and encourage the public to get vaccinated in the United States.
From July onwards, McDonald’s is said to be printing vaccine information on McCafé cups Business Insider. The McDonald’s promotion will take several weeks. About 50 million cups have President Biden’s “We can do this” tagline. The company has nearly 14,000 locations across the country to aid in dissemination.
“McDonald’s is excited to do our part for the people we serve by providing simple information that can help keep them safe,” said Genna Gent, McDonald’s vice president for global public order and government relations, in a statement .
This partnership is the latest among other efforts to vaccinate people. New York City plans to promote vaccinations with free entry to attractions like Lincoln Center and the Bronx Zoo. Many in the private sector are also increasing the incentives. Companies like Krispy Kreme are giving away a free frozen donut every day when you show your vaccination card, while Budweiser is giving away a beer to vaccinated consumers 21 and older until mid-May.
Recent CDC data shows that many people missed the second dose of vaccine because the country’s vaccination rate has fallen.
