Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has appealed to his Colombian counterpart Iván Duque to coordinate the actions of both countries against the coronavirus and has said they would do “much better”.

Maduro has emphasized that Venezuela is on the verge of an outbreak of infections from Colombia. “Colombia is unleashed, it has already reached 15th place worldwide and will be 14th place over the next few hours due to the increase in cases and deaths,” he said, according to the Venezuelan television station.
The Venezuelan president has asked for coordination between the ministries of health of both countries, as well as between the army, police and customs, in order to “continue to protect our people”.
