Maduro accuses Trump of using the army to “massacre” those who protest Floyd’s death

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has accused his US counterpart Donald Trump of wanting to use the US army to “massacre” those who protest the death of African American George Floyd by a white policeman.

“The point is to massacre people in the United States, which is only asking for equality,” said Maduro in his appearance on Wednesday, referring to Trump’s intention to send the military onto the streets, the state-run network VTV reports .

He also expressed “solidarity” with the Floyd family and “with the entire African American community in the United States” and “with the American people who struggle for equality, peace and justice”.
